Warriors Crown 8 Champs at Kingsley Pierson

Hard work and determination paid off this past weekend as the Sergeant Bluff Luton Warriors Youth Wrestling Team crowned 8 Champs at the Kingsley Pierson Tournament. The warriors had an impressive start with Joshua Gray winning his first round match by major decision 13-4. The team continued to stay on track through the first round only having loses from Garrett McHugh and Carson McDermott. McHugh fell in the first round to an opponent from Le Mars 6-2 before coming back and getting third by the end of the day. As the day progressed the Warriors continued to dominate the rest of the field winning over 50% of their matches by 8 or more points. The impressive finishes came from Bo Koedam and Ayden McRoberts. Koedam with 1 technical fall and 3 pins on the day to secure a first place spot in his respective bracket. McRoberts, who after a tough road last weekend, was able to bounce back and master three great wins in route to a first place finish as well. The Warriors had a 2nd place finish from Dax Koedam. a 3rd place finish from McHugh, and a 4th place finish from Carson McDermott. The 8 champs for Coach Langley and the warriors were as follows: Joshua Gray, Ayden McRoberts, Drake Howard, Bo Koedam, Ty Koedam, Brenden Fisch, Ethan Skoglund, and Jordan Hincapie. "It was a great day for the warriors. I am very proud of how the boys wrestled; however, we still have plenty of room to improve" commented Langley at the end of the day. The warriors will be back on the mat this weekend when the host 4 teams for their annual Winter Brawl Dual Tournament.
