MBLL Wins Multiple District Championships
Girls - 9/10 Year Olds: MBLL took the District 11 Championship with a 13-2 victory on July 16. Action now moves to the Sectionals. Earlier
highlights from the tournament include a 17-17 win on July 12, a 10-0 victory on July 9 and a 9-2 win on July 7. Shakyra Moore and Quinn Saito
have both deposited home runs over the fence.
Boys - 9 Year Olds: MBLL took the tournament championship, with back-to-back wins against South Wall. Mike Gowen was the
tourney most valuable player. Congratulations to all of the boys.
Boys - 10 Year Olds: MBLL finished second in the district tournament. The boys lost to the North Wall, 8-4, in the championship game on July 19.
The team had defeated North Wall by that same score days earlier to advance to the finals.
Boys - 10/11 Year Olds: MBLL bowed out of the District 11 tournament in three games, after a 5-1 loss against Howell Central on July 10.
Earlier, the boys defeated Ocean South, 28-2, on July 8. Ryan Jensen belted two home runs in the game,
one a grand slam. Griffin Arnott and Austin Castellanos also homered. Eleven MBLL players had hits.
Boys - 12 Year Olds: MBLL was district champion for the second straight year. In the sectionals, the boys notched a win against Freehold but
lost two against Jackson to be eliminated.

Board Meeting Schedule
The next meeting will be held on Sept. 8. Except during the season, regular meetings of the MBLL board are held the first Monday of each month
at Curtis House
on Union Avenue in Brielle -- adjacent to Green Acres park. (Meetings
are held the second Monday of the month, when the first Monday is a major holiday.)

Looking Ahead to 2009
Registration for 2009: Signups for next year's season will be held on Sept. 28 and Oct. 19. Registrations received after those dates will
be considered late. Player evaluations are expected to be held in early March 2009.
New Clubhouse Construction of the new clubhouse is expected to begin this fall, with completion expected before the 2009 season.
